Texas Joe's DW is headed to the ER at Hospice nurse's direction. TJ needs all the Prayers, rope, and hugs we can send. He said the nurse indicated her body was shutting down. My impression is that they aren't sure why.

UPDate--e-mail from TJ---"Carol, her vitals are all ok, and the dr. dis-impacted her again, so maybe all of this is due to some bowel thing like an obstruction, or whatever. It still could be shutting down...won't know any more until X-ray of stomach, bowel, come back. She does have a moderate UTI also, and was so dehydrated that when they cathed her, no urine came out, but now she is putting some out, and they are doing a culture on that. I don't know whether she will be spending the night there or not.
    Thanks for everything (((hugs))

Previously, TJ had told me there's been no fever in the last few days, but she's been reluctant to eat or drink.

We all know that dehydration can also be a contributing factor to constipation. Sure hope they find a solution or answer.

To all my dear and loving friends...thank you from the bottom of my broken heart for all your wonderful comments, they mean so very much to me. No one has to tell me my soulmate is dying. She won't or can't even take a spoon of water this morning, let alone any food or meds. The nurse is supposed to be here today to see her. If I can't get someone else to feed her, it looks like it will just be a matter of a few days. I don't know what else to say except I love you all.

Oh Dear Mercy, Joe. I'm so sorry. I join with everyone else in sending another hug from Texas. There have been such good reports from those who have recently had Hospice care. I pray for the comfort now for you and your wife.
  15.
Joe, sending love your way. If they don't already, have them install a cathater and a bath aide daily. I had the hospital bed set up in the kitchen/family room so we could check on him as we passed. It was a week, some are less, some are more. Be glad for her and yourself. Have them install the better air mattress to better control bed sores. I thought we had one on on Paul's bed but didn't and by then it was too late to move him. We kept a cup of water with olive oil in it, by the bed and frequently used a sponge (which Hospice provides) to moisten his lips and the inside of his mouth. Sometimes he would clamp down on the stick and we would wait until he released it. You have did a great job and be proud of yourself. She is in no pain and moving into the next world.
