I have been having trouble accessing the message boards. It is now occurring on a regular basis. I need to know if this is a problem on my end or if it is universal. When I click on Message Boards, I get a notice that my browser cannot connect; that there is no problem with my Internet connection; and that the site may be too busy. Please let me know if anyone else is having this issue.
Yes, Joan, I had to try about five times before it would send me to the message board. I assumed you were doing maintenance or something. Perhaps it is just becoming so busy that the server can't keep up with the demand.
i've had a few joan - says when i go from one message to the next or emails /back to messages it says unable to access. but i thought it was my webtv issues. it usually clears up with a couple of tries.divvi
I've had trouble all morning. I am on the phone with tech. support now. I think I need to upgrade the boards, which I will do when I return from all of my errands. In the meantime, e-mail me if you continue to have problems.
Got the message once. Trouble I've had mostly is when trying to leave one thread to go back to boards. It just sits there. Has been doing this more lately. I thought it was my funky fingers.<lol> It may still be.
Okay - I got the answer. It's actually good news. There are soooo many requests for this message board that it wasn't able to handle them all. My host server just did something to speed things up for us. Next project is for me to upgrade the boards, which I mentioned above I will do when I return from my errands.
Thank goodness....I thought it was my computer.....I can get in all right, but it takes forever to go from one message to another. Thanks for checking on this Joan...We all appreciate what you do....
Wasn't having any trouble earlier - but now I am. Took me about 10 minutes to finally be able to access the message board. Then it wouldn't let me post. Finally got it to post and tried to edit - wouldn't let me. Finally did let me.????
Today when I tried to get on, it said my name and password didn't match. I tried half a dozen times and I know I was typing them correctly. Then it said I needed to open a Google account. which I did. Don't know why. I've always used Comcast Internet Explorer before. But, I did get in and her I am. We'll see what happens next time.
Don't you just love modern technology? And the terrible thing is, that without it we wouldn't be able to communicate at all. And, now we're all so spoiled. Sigh.
I have never had a problem..and hope I never do...This is the way I spend my free time at night. This web-site has been so helpfull....Thank you Joan!!! Rosalie
That's what I originally thought, but the host server said that there were so many people trying to access the boards, that the server couldn't handle it. They fixed it for now, but I need to update the software. Which I will do during a quiet time (3 AM?).
I checked about downloading the new software, but I am afraid to do it myself. I'll call Joel sometime this week and have him do it. I am going to bed. It is 11:30 PM. Nite all.
Joan, I had connection problems (couldn't connect at all) between 11:00 and 11:30 last evening when there was virtually no posting activity going on, so my inclination would be that the problem is not with the large number of spouses trying to access the board -- maybe something else to blame?
I couldn't access message board again around 10:30 CT last night...got a white page with Website Unavailable message. I assumed they were working on your problems with the Server.
joan, i am wondering if you opened an email from someone who had put a bug in your program. i am not computer savvy but these issues seemed to start soon after ... and they are ongoing at odd hrs when there isnt much activity here. very strange. divvi
Sometimes impossible....then again very slow. Rono showed up again in welcme new members as onor. When I checked back the post was gone but my reply was still there. I think he is playing games with us. Guess he doesn't have anything better to do.
Joan- the problem may not be your website...fromwhat I just heard,so many people have been searching Michael Jackson that it is bringing the internet to its knees....it has caused slowdowns everwhere, and I suspect it may be the billion or so hits and searches....seems like the problem is widespread....
