I did the preliminary screening online. Last Friday I got a call telling me they wanted to do the second screening before doing the survey. I missed the call, and then tried and tried to call back, but the phone was always busy. Today when I got through, they asked me where I had heard about the survey. When I told them the Alzheimer Spouse web site, they told me that they had all the people they needed from that source! So, no survey. They did put me on the list for future projects, though.
Yeah, I flunked too -- got my call a couple of hours ago, and all of the questions concerned how I felt about my caregiving role and how I was bearing up, and I evidently wasn't having a hard enough time with caregiving to meet their selection criteria.
Off topic, but we're having a real thunderboomer going on now, with lightning striking all around us and and intermittent sheets of hard rain. We've had more rain during the past week than we'd had since the first of the year, so mosquitoes can't be far behind (sob).
I initially applied for this study on May 15th. I just got a call from the person at the research center and have been approved to take the survey. So, guess they are still working on it. As soon as I take the survey and get the check I'll send the 75.00 to Joan.
