I thought it might be interesting to see exactly where we stand on statistics as far as years married? i would like to know who is are oldest and youngest yrs married or together couples?? please post and maybe we can get the answers!
Bluedaze, I wish your 50th anniversary celebration could be a different one from the one you will be having. I'll lift a glass of wine in a toast to you and your husband on the 15th.
32 yrs this past February 18.... When we passed 30 my daughter commented that she didn't think second marriages lasted into the big numbers. i pointed out that if you don't die, and don't leave, they pretty much last as long as first marriages. (grin)

Married 53 years - I was 21 and he was 32. First marriage for both. But short courtship, of five months. He hasn't been aware of the anniversary for about the last 3 years.
We'll be married 55 years on June 26. We dated for 8 years before that (giving us 63 years together) We started in high school (sophomore year) and I never dated another girl seriously after that. We married at the end of my second year of medical school, after she had completed her masters degree in biochemistry. All very good years.
Feb. 11 was our 29th anniversary. Second marriages for both of us. chris r is setting an example with her 32 years. I liked your comment to your daughter.
Met Feb 10, 1974, engaged Feb. 12, 1974, Married August 31, 1974. 35 years this year. I was 25 when we met, 26 when we married and he was 31, almost 32. I bet we had the shortest courtship.
Whoa Charlotte! You beat us. We decided to get married 2 weeks after our first date, but we had to wait 6 months until I graduated college. He was 27; I was 21. We'll be married 39 years in June. The first 35 of those married years were the best years of my life. Then AD struck, and it's been difficult since then.
shellseeker, gosh so far you win the shortest yrs married with beachgirl second..my i feel for you ladies, not many good yrs before AD hit. my heart goes out to you. we had 20yrs together and almost last half to AD. i will dwell in those first 10yrs forever---sigh....:(divvi
We met March 23, 1948 (I was 16). We married March 25, 1950--59 years ago. These have been very good years except for a couple of not so good ones thrown in for contrast. :) I've always been happy that we got married. I can't think of anything I'd have rather done with my life than be DH's wife.
