Like all of us I have had to take over everything that can go wrong. Sometimes it is the smallest problem that puts us over the edge. We just got over severe flooding and still continue to have rain. I noticed the gutters pulling away from the house. I am trying to learn home repairs but ladder climbing isn't my Olympic skill. I called a repairman and he gave me a time to be here. An hour before he actually called to say he'd be late. That is the first time ANY service person has done that. He truck was clean. He was polite. His charge was reasonable. There are still some honest and good people out there. It's fixing to rain again. He couldn't do the caulking and I was not reluctant to pay him in full because I know he will be back to finish the job. He restored my faith in humanity.
I'm glad for you. My 16-1/2 yr old grandson just agreed to come once a week to take me shopping, vacumme, wash windows (inside & out), mow lawns, you name it.....What a guy. He needs the $$ to pay for his auto insurance--his dad (our son) said he couldn't drive unless he had a job to pay for his own insurance & gas. He and I discussed it and it was agreed upon. We're going to do it fo 3 months to see how it works for both of us. If he gets a job closer to home, he's suppose to be forthright and tell me upfront--none of this shilly-shalling around.
He's just delightful (born on my birthday 16 years ago) and he has an idea that I think he's pretty special. Wonder where he got that idea.
This has been such a fun day! He made DH laugh really hard which made us very happy. He hauled me all over town and got lots of driving experience under his belt. He has had his license since April. What a guy!!
