Kitty, did you go to the recycle bin and see if they were there? There are computer geeks who might be able to "find" them for you because they say nothing on the computer is ever completely deleted...... Not being a geek, I can't help, but have deleted duplicate photos, and did a couple in error and they were in the recycle bin and I restored them....sometimes you can "restore" your computer to an earlier time (before the delete) and you will find them, but I think you might lose everything that you ADDED since that time...not sure about that one...as I said, I am not a geek.... Just some suggestions.
I got my picture on my account page - still working on getting the icon small enough. I'm also going to try to get a better picture - maybe one of me and my husband.
Good question. When I look at your profile there is a great big empty space where the photo ought to be. If you don't have a photo, there ususally is no space.
Try going into your profile and clicking on the empty space and hitting the delete key. Save what you did and then try to upload a smaller version of the photo again. It might be too big and the only thing that is showing is some empty space. The first time I tried uploading I got my mouth and chin and nothing else.
Whoops! I was trying to move your question about sending your picture to Nikki from the other discussion topic to this one, and I deleted it. I checked my e-mail, and you didn't send me anything. Click on Nikki's name in blue on one of her posts, and her e-mail is listed there. You can send it directly to her.
If you click on my name, which for the purposes of this board, is Admin (administator), you will not see a picture there, because I can't figure out how to get it in there! Probably could if I spent a lot of time on it, but I don't have the time or patience.
I decided to add my most recent picture for my icon, though I prefer the one from the cruise where I'm fancied up and 35 pounds lighter! <grin> I'm hoping to take those pounds off before the February 2009 Caregiver Cruise!
chris, forget about deleting anything. Just paste the URL for your picture over the top of whatever you currently have in the space. Make sure that there are no [IMG] on either side of the URL. And remember to SAVE before you change the page.
Sorry I haven't been on much. Been having a few minor issues and getting some tests done......
Chris I sent your link, tested it and it worked great :)
Jenene great picture, glad you worked it out
Mary, let me know what you are trying to do? Maybe I can help
HINTS
If you are using tinypicture, copy the "direct link for layout" then there is no need to worry about removing unwanted items.
Also, some of the pictures I have received.. the problem was the picture WAS there, but the way it was cropped left this huge white area. So when tinypictures uploaded the picture, it was mostly just white hence... the big blank white space *wink
It is best to crop your image... no white space around it... before you try to upload.
Morning LMohr I belong to the Red Hat Society for the last 5 years and a better support group I've never had (present company excluded) They are my rock. I love my red hats I won't tell you but once that I am obsessive compulsive about creating a new hat for each new function and I love giving them away. My hats give me comfort and sometimes I wear them to work. Signed Red Hat Vice Queen
Ok, Sunshyne, I did that. thanks for the complement. It was taken in Poland when we went on a Baltic cruise, probably 2 yrs ago, but I couldn't find any newer, I'm the photog when we travel, so there are never photos of me. (grin)
Chris, your picture now shows up in your personal account. Partial success!!! at least everyone else can see what you look like now.
This version is too big to use as the "icon" which would show up in all your posts. Let me see if I can figure out how to fix that from what Nikki has posted in the past... or maybe Nikki can use the http://i38.tinypic.com/mjs5k8.jpg to get a thumbnail for you.
GEEZ...All this technical stuff just goes over my head and at 71 I have no desire to learn anything complicated. I am glad you are all so smart........
Hi Chris, sorry about that... didn't know you wanted the icon as well.
All you do is the same thing... but you have to shrink the picture WAY down, much smaller than the thumbnail. At any rate,,,I played with the size till it worked. I tried it on my account, looks good :)
Here is your link. http://i35.tinypic.com/1zw2cf8.jpg
I miss you nikki. Get yourself all better. Please----
Chris R, when I did small pic, I used photo editing software and cropped my larger pic of my head, resized it to 32 x 32 pixels and saved smaller pic. Then when I was doing 'icon' on tinypic.com, I used that pic and pasted url to icon area in my account. I therefor had 2 different pics used on tinypic.com. Hope this helps.
Nikki, I hope you are pain free now. Hopefully the doctors will be able to give you something to relieve the pain and keep it from coming back. You had enough on your plate before this happened! Here's a hug! (())
I have a suggestion that would be of interest to all of us. You can put more personal information on your account page. If you click on my name you will see I have entered my DH age, diagnosis and his profession or work (was). I have trouble remembering if someone's spouse has FTL or AD, age or whatever else you want to share. Click on your account then over to the left of the page, personal information and at the bottom of the list there is a place to make more entries.
