Welcome to Darlag, Laura57, Sedgly, Sylviavs, dconner3947, and Tesscol. I hope you find that this website offers you comfort and advice for the difficult journey that you are on as the spouse or partner of an Alzheimer's patient. As one who joined four years ago and is now on the other side of that experience, I can tell you that I probably would not have survived without the help of the others here. If you would like, please let us know a little about yourselves and if you think there is any way we can help you.
This site, founded by Joan Gershman, has helped scores of people during the most difficult period of their lives. Many of us owe our sanity to her. Joan tells us that the site will soon be reformatted. Because she is suffering from a painful illness, she will be handing off monitoring duties to a volunteer. But she assures us that "The Alzheimer's Spouse" will still be open for business. We look forward to chatting with you.
Yes, welcome all. This site has been a lifeline for me, too. It got me through my husband's death and dying, and I'm still coming to "Joan's" three and a half years later. The group has been more than helpful in the recovery process, too. No matter what happens with computer changes to the site, let's all try to stick together and help each other the way we always have.
