You ladies and your mouse stories tickles the funny bones. Also, for my di I get her DQ Therapy. I think the DQ Therapy (Blizzard) works as as good as any other therapy but, it has to be something chocolate. Myself, what works is strawberry.
Rodstar - I love the triple truffle they just came out with.
Back in about 1974 our cat brought a big rat into the back porch - I am talking the size of those big rats people have for pets but brown instead of white. I saw her let it go where it ran under the washer. Grabbed her to bring inside, I left the outside door open - just the inside door to the bedroom. Never saw it again assuming it left on its own. We use to own a 5th wheel. When we traded it in for our motorhome you could still hear a mouse crawling around in the walls up in the bedroom. Never told them they were get something extra when we traded it! When I was a kid the squirrels use to collect the walnuts from the tree next to the house and bring them into the attic. My bedroom ceiling was angled and often could lay in bed at night listening to the walnuts roll down the ceiling. There was insulation up there but evidently they had made tunnels or something in the insulation!
My Di likes chocolate cake blizzard, turtle pecan, and triple truffle blizzards. All good DQ Therapy.
Charlotte, I really like squirrel stories. My favorite was BB (big b...), he was at an RV park in the Lake Texoma area of Texas. He really liked bird feed. I would add obsticals on the wire holding the bird feed. When he defeated the obstacles he would eat, then look directly into the motor home and smile. I swear he did. I would add more obsticals and BB would figure a way to the bird feed and smile at me. This went on for a month or so. He loved the game.
There are many that are too poor to afford help but too 'rich' to qualify for help. If you have not heard of Hilarity for Charity, it is an organization set up to help those that need respite or in home help through grants. Here is their website if you want to find out more or apply.
Shampooed the carpets in the motorhome today. I did it because he can't figure out how to work the shampooer. When I took it outside to clean it up good before putting it in storage, I sent him in for a screwdriver. Three times he came out with a clamp. Got the screwdriver myself and showed him the screws I needed removed. Told him to go in and get his glasses so he could see what he was doing. Kept coming back out with the clamp. Finally just did it myself. I hate doing that, want to let him help some but so hard.
He keeps calling the kitten a dog. I stopped correcting him. When we are driving he calls things the wrong name - stopped correcting him. He never remembers and it just irritates me. Much easier on the mood to let him call it what he wants. I can't believe how fast his language skills, which requires memory, are going down since last spring. But, I knew it was coming. I did get a hold of my case working at Aging and Long Term Care. She is suppose to be sending me out a list of the nursing homes that accept Medicaid.
Still trying to decide on which Medicare supplement to get. I have talked via email with agents to get quotes and one on the phone. Tomorrow I have an appointment to meet someone in person that my case worker gave me the name of. Maybe in person will be easier to decide. Whatever I decide looks like I will only have just over half of my SS left.
Took advice and a couple years ago started opening cc in just my name. Found out my credit report now says I have short term credit which means I get a higher rate on my car insurance. They do not count credit when it was jointly even though many carried me on the card and credit report too. No accidents in 49 years of driving, not even a fender bender, and that counts for nothing. Can't win in life can we?
I'm sorry this happened to you Charlotte. In my state, it is illegal to use credit scores to compute auto insurance premiums. I wish it were illegal in all states.
Charlotte, I suggest you call your insurance company and ask to speak to a supervisor - someone with experience with older clients. I would think they could adjust your premium. You may want to call.several times if you keep getting the wrong answer. The language thing is very confusing sometimes. Mine keeps saying something like a guy came here or two guys came here and it turns out he is talking about birds! I thought he was hallucinating. He calls clouds people. Points at helicopters and says.there's one of your guys. Last few days he keeps wanting me to drive him up to the neighbor's house to get something. I finally figured out he is worried about his truck that is in my neighbor's auto shop.
I have a lot less to shampoo than you do! The carpet is so old you can't really tell it was shampooed but there sure was a lot of dirt in the water!
I did call and got nowhere. She said they can't adjust it - the computer programming does. Bologna! I may take your suggestion and call again - maybe next week. I have get this Medicare stuff taken care of first.
Watching McClintock with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. I think this is the 3rd time in two weeks. It is fine with me cause I love it.
Maybe it can be disputed with the credit rating agencies. I had to get them to correct something on my report a.few years ago and filled out a report online. I need to recheck our reports. Most everything is joint but we each have separate reports. I recently signed up for a.card in only my name. I hope they didn't downgrade my score for that.
Also, I wonder if the insurance commissioner in your state could help. Or sometimes the local news stations have someone who takes on insurance companies or government agencies for issues like this.
I bought a.bunch of NCIS dvds.and play them a lot. Need to break out the John Wayne ones again. His favorite is Quiet Man.
So after 3-4 days of seriously contemplating divorce once again, we had a reasonably good day. A fraternity brother.of DH contacted us last summer about a reunion. When I explained about Alzheimers turned out his wife has it too and she is in assisted living now. DH was in their wedding about 50 years ago. He thought the reunion would be too confusing for DH so we didn't go, But he has kept in touch wanting to get.together for lunch. So I finally said yes and we met him halfway today.
Stopped by DH's sister's office to drop off some info I wrote up in case of emergency. Had a nice chat with her. Then met DHs friend. What a nice guy. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.
Once again I found myself talking too much. It is weird. I feel like I am watching myself from outside and telling myself to just shut up. Then the friend asks another.question or there is silence and I fill it. Kept telling the stories DH used to tell me. The guy even says he wants to get together again. Can you imagine? Says we shouldnt wait 50 years this time.
DH had a wonderful time. I got him a plain hamburger and fries and he loved it. Had no trouble eating it. No panicky nervousness like other trips to restaurants. So I did a better job.at predicting his needs and avoiding trouble.
Question, my DW has not driven in over two years. I was thinking of taking her off the insurance policy to save money. Would you save money? She still has a driver's license, would I have to have that descended? This is in New Mexico.
Check with your agent. Mine didn't go up until they ran a credit check. Since all your credit has been in your name for years, it should not make a difference.
Rodstar, I don't think you have to turn in the license. When it expires you can probably get a free ID. I forget what it is called. Here in CA the DMV issues a picture card.when you can't drive any more.
