I don't post much now but I thought some of you might enjoy this.

Because of DH'S Bv fronto it has been four years of wondering when the staff at his LTC would learn how to talk to him but no way. I finally had to lay a formal complaint against the Union and WOW did that shake things up.
I received an email from the Director of care telling me that they were having an educator to come and talk to the staff about BV front and would I come in and talk about DH'S years in the Armed forces. This session was all about how to talk to DH. I said YES. I then called my facilitator at the Alzheimer's society here and to my great surprise they were the educators that would be there.
I spoke of all the tough training and his childhood and what our lives were like as a married couple. The Educators talked about hw to talk to him and how to approach him and how not to. They explained the differences between AD and Fronot. It was a great talk.I had a problem with one of the staff and faced her down and she pulled her horns in quite fast. The time was well spent and today they asked me to come back to speak again but this time to the evening shift that he has so much trouble with. That should prove interesting.

Jazzy, that's great. Why didn't they think of that before you had to register a complaint.

I really don"t know, but I have learned that I have much more power then I had thought.
DH is now telling me that the day staff is much gentler with him then before. Now for the notorious evening staff.
