Question to all those out there. We just finished 18 month trial with biogen drug. Hard to tell if it slowed anything down as she has progressed. Went from a 20 to a 9 on the MMSE. Anyway, we have an option to keep going. We know she was on the real drug because we had to stop a few times for Edema.
I am perplexed on what to do. I have read all kinds of things about stopping all drugs etc.. i am concerned with her quality of life.
Anyway as you all know each day is a journey. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
If it were me, I would opt for continuing the drug. All the information obtained by your wife being part of this ongoing study will help the researchers and those afflicted with the disease, both now and in the future. My personal opinion is that the quality of your wife's life will be not be affected. That being said, I have no special knowledge of the drug. Would your own family doctor be able to offer a more informed opinion?
