E9 accidentally fledged--fell out of the nest, flew across the road to a field, flew to a fence...Harriet and M15 feeding him. I hope he can get back to the nest today. I have always liked E9--he (she?) seems to have a nice personality--the vibe comes across through the internet. Anyway, fingers crossed. He is a strong, brave little bird. There are a couple of youtube videos that are better than the Dick Pritchett Realty company website. I found them easily just googling some key words.
I didn't realize there were so many detailed youtube videos about the various eagles in the Dick Pritchett nest and others. Some cute, some sad.
I just braved the elements and took Bandit to the vet for his routine yearly rabies vaccination. Good thing I have good snow tires. Holy Adventures in Driving, Batman. All the news sources online are saying New York dodged a bullet. Yeah, right. Maybe NYC got off easy, but not those of us a little further upstate. I'm not holding my breath for a mail delivery today.
Probably should post on Widows/Widowers that just when I felt like I've turned the corner, I had another tossing, turning, "Everybody's dead and there's two feet of snow and nobody loves me" night. Sheesh. This grief and bereavement stuff is the gift that just keeps on giving. You think you're doing great, and all of a sudden...wham...it hits you again full force, out of nowhere. Definitely not a linear process, as we've all said a time or two.
I love you, Elizabeth. And E 9 is back in the nest. It all works out in the end, and if it hasn't yet, it's because it's not the end (Stuart Maclean, "Vinyl Cafe").
Elizabeth ...... Thank you for starting this thread. I'm so happy that E9 made it back to the nest OK. I never realized that some little birds in far away places could make me so happy.
