My Dh looks like he has tobacco chew in his bottom lip. He has never chewed tobacco but that the best way to describe it. Nothing new re: meds or diet. Anybody else notice this? He has dr apt on Friday so I will point this out.

Sorry that we haven't replied before this onewife but I think that it sounded so strange that no one knew what to say.
I have not heard of anything like this so hope that your Friday Doctors appointment will give you some answers.

Cassie is right - not sure what to think. Maybe he bit his lip, maybe hit it on something, or food. Possibly his gums?? Any sign of bleeding or bruising?

I seem to recall my wife having gotten a similar reaction once when she changed toothpastes.

Could it be an allergic reaction? Maybe to a medication?

Thanks for you response. Very odd indeed. Today we had dr appointment and lip was normal. Go figure. Dr was surprised by his decline from 5 mo ago. Not due to lip, but she did say we could discontinue galantamine and after that we will stop namenda. She feels they are not working. Dh has severe constipation so mylanta w prune juice everyday and if that doesn't work on to specialist.

I stopped my husband's galatamine cold turkey and he did have withdrawals. Didn't think about that when I stopped it. He had headache, coughing and diarrhea for about 3 days then was fine. Saw no change in stopping it, so it was not doing anything.
