Hello dear friends. Today I finally got going with my face book page and welcome you visiting and hopefully liking it. In my opening comments, I write about having lost myself to my husband's dementia for over eight years and knowing I am not alone for spouses doing that with this horrid disease.

I welcome your comments on face book for those of you that go there. I think of you all and this site every single day.
Good day everyone. Thank you to those commenting here.
I set up that new page hoping to share my experience with the devastation of dementia. How I lost myself for over 8 years and was terribly sick for over 9 months after my husband died. I am getting comments telling me to do things like go on a trip, join a particular group, and life happens and basically get over it.
I wonder if it is even worth the effort to keep the page up? My interest was in education and hopefully connecting with others who can share in my journey.
Joan, thank you from the bottom of my heart again for starting this site. And to all of you who have kept me sane and going for the last many years. As we say here so often "only we get it."
I think your Facebook page is a great idea but you are going to run into those who don't understand how hard this is on us and they can be down right cruel. If you find that the cruel, know it all comments, are causing you to much stress and upset then you will have decide if you want to carry on. I am still running into those, even my DH's Doctor who has told me and others in my DH's LTC to" GET A LIFE" what a cruel thing to say. How heartless and from the very one you count on for support. It's your choice. Do what is best for you.
I will give it a bit more time as yes Jazzy, I don't need more stress. A blog is a fabulous idea Charlotte as I might have way more success reaching who I want.
I know Joan started this site as there wasn't anything out there in terms of people who "get it." I was also thinking this morning face book is more of an upbeat forum and this disease and our experiences do not fall into that category.
