As many of you have written, since AD came into our lives we have had to undertake many tasks for which we were certainly not trained.
Today my husband came out of the washroom with 3 tools in hand and when I asked him what he had been doing I finally clued in that the water was running constantly in the toilet water tank. He said he had fixed it and when I checked it was still running. I said as nicely as I could, maybe this screw has come loose, let me try. I got a knife, tightened the screw and voila! the water is no longer running. I asked him for my $ 75.00 plummer fee and we both laughed. It is not always this easy.

I have the cutest little pink tool apron. I have learned to change ceiling light fixtures, work on the house,do plumbing repairs.

The water pressure in my bathroom sinks was getting pretty weak. Didn't want to pay a plumber. The filters in the end of the faucets were blocked and corroded onto the spigot. I took and old toothbrush and scrubbed the dickens out of them. Voila! Better water pressure than ever. That will be $75.00 please.

bluedaze, that works at the kitchen sink and your washing machine and for shower heads too. <grin> My lesson in plumbing. (No charge!)

I've learned to do everything else, but I am so afraid to change our water filter. I probably have a month more MAX to wait. If I do it wrong the worst thing that would happen is trying to find a MAN around the Park that would bail me out. Still, I worry about that at least once a day!

Three cheers for the women who learn fix-it skills. I know Home Depot has general home repair classes, and if I'm not mistaken, I saw a news program one time that the majority of their students are women.

I put up those switch plates after our son painted the living room. I also had DH help me put up the railings for the staircase. I was so proud of me.
