I want you to be aware of what is going on. I put this notice on the home page, and I am repeating it here, so everyone knows what to expect.
As of Tuesday, August 16, 2016, this website will have a completely new look. When you log on, if the site looks the same as it always has, please use the “refresh” button, and the new format should come up. The changes reflect the advances in technology and the changes in my own life since the inception of the site in 2007. Read the January 31, 2016 blog on the home page for more details on what to expect.
Please be patient with us as we roll out the new format. The message boards will remain the same, however, they will be DOWN for a few hours on Monday night ( 8/15/16) as the technical team moves them. Do not panic. They will return to operation as soon as they have been transferred.
My email will remain the same (joan@thealzheimerspouse.com), but DO NOT use it until Tuesday night (8/16/16), as it is also being moved. For now, you can contact me at joang4848@gmail.com or on the message boards.
You can help me out by passing on the word about the new format.
The transfer is taking longer than expected because my site is so big and has so much data. It's still transferring as I write this (8:45 AM Eastern time), August 16, 2016. Site should be completely moved within another 24 hours.
Yes, Charlotte, it's pretty amazing. The changes in web design, development, and implementation in the last 9 years are monumental. More like 100 years than 9. Matt and his team did an incredible job. I can't believe this is the kid who worked part time at a computer store while he was going to school, and now owns his own company.
Wednesday - Everything transferred except these message boards. Since these are so important, and basically the heart of the website, we are working to make them transfer and work properly before the final switch is made.
I help to implement and train for a new EMR (electronic medical record) at the Medical Center before I had to give up my (very much loved) job. It is very exciting but there are always lots of bugs to work out. I am anxious to see the finished product.
You can almost always hit the F5 button to refresh. Top row fifth over after the top left escape button.
With the mouse it is the circular arrow to the right of the left and right arrows usually near the top left area of the page.
The left arrow button when it's darkened means you can click on that to go back to the previous page. The right arrow when darkened means you have come back to a previous page and can now use that right arrow to go forward to the page you were on before.
Finally the clockwise circular arrow means "refresh this page" or "reload this page", they both mean the same thing.
