Kevan's area was closed for 10 days with stomach flu. Both ends going ful blast. He was really afraid he would get it so he stayed in his room. Finally on Saturday they opened the area and I took him out for a light breakfast then lunch. Out daughter came over and spent a few hours with us as well. The staff told me they were worried about him because he was unable to walk or socialize. His two sons were to come and take him out for Father's Day lunch but three more people came down with the flu on Sunday morning so it was closed again. He is better now, not so stressed and says it is because he got out on Saturday.
In all of our married life he has never had a flu so hopefully he will not get it this time.
They thought they had it all cleared up for four days but on the fifth it came back with a vengeance.

I remember when we had Lisa's parents in a seniors facility a few years back mom in extended care and dad, with Alzheimer's still able to live in assisted living. They had been married for over 50 years. Well the flu broke out so extended care was under quarantine. Dad could not understand. Nobody was going to keep him from seeing his wife and it actually became a big problem as he would continually go into see her. We ended up having to take him home until everything settled down. Sad in one way but a love story in another. Both are gone now.

We are all we have. It makes it very difficult to not be able to see each other. I can go to MacDonalds for coffee but he can't even go down stairs. It's very hard on him to not have anywhere to walk as he needs to walk often. He says he is in jail.

    Hard times all around.
