My DH had surgery to remove a skin cancer on his face. The bandages were to stay on for 48 hours. Right. Within 5 minutes he had removed them. No surprise. In the past he removed a heart monitor and also a catheter which caused him to spend a week in the hospital. He got very upset with me when I asked him why he had removed the bandage. He said he didn't do it - there are other people in the house who do these things. Guess they are the same people who pee in his clothes and leave them lying around. Sorry to rant. Sometimes I get so frustrated.

It's beyond frustrating, and I don't have any suggestions that might help. My husband used to pick at his skin until sores developed, which became infected. These, in turn, required antibiotics and dressings. Then he had more dressings and (partially) healed sores to pick at. You'd think that a medication might help, but medications can come at a cost, e.g., dizziness. When my husband took off the dressings on his (by now) wounds, he said the air helped them to heal. How can you argue with that? Eventually, they would heal until the next bout.

I know there are no real answers. I am so thankful for all of you.
