Thanks, Elizabeth, my birthday (66) is tomorrow, but it is bittersweet as my DH's decline continues unabated. He suffered a major seizure on March 1st that has really set him back. He can no longer walk and we are waiting for OT to recommend a wheelchair. His tics and twitching are also much worse and none of the medications they have tried have done much to alleviate this. I was in to feed him his lunch yesterday but he hardly even opens his eyes now. I feel his remaining time will be measured in months, not years, but perhaps this is a blessing because he would hate being in this condition.
I am so thankful for the support of friends and family (and this site). I now live on the west coast of Canada but am originally from the Maritimes, and my children are going to prepare an east coast lobster dinner to celebrate my birthday - something to look forward to!
