    Simple, but evocative, lyrics.

I made it to "the man that loved you till the end" before I started to cry. I think every friend and relative who doesn't "get it" should have to listen to this song.

Just cried through the whole thing. A starkly haunting song from someone who obviously and unfortunately "gets it" all too tragically well.

Wow. This song. Really cuts to the heart of it. The line that stands out for me is: "It's not gonna hurt me when you cry". That really hits home for me. There were times I would be crying and asking Bill why he did or said whatever it was at the time, and he would just look at me like I was a puzzle he couldn't figure out. He had no clue what I was talking about or why I was upset. This was before I was more informed about the results of the various stages of this cursed disease.

    Thanks for sharing.

I saw Glen Campbell's video earlier in the week and have listened to it a few more times since. I made the mistake of viewing it the first time at work and couldn't dry my eyes. I posted on FB asking friends and family to view it so they would have a better insight to what we go through. Unfortunately everyone seems to busy to be bothered and that hurts. Thank goodness for this site where we support each other and know what each is dealing with.

I too saw this on Charlotte's Facebook page. I shared it on my Facebook page and seemed to have the same response as you did texasgirl. Some people just don't want to know.

texasgirl - friends & family might be too "busy" to view it (notice how being busy has become a cop- out for not doing things?), but I have really begun to think that it's just too unpleasant, morbid & frightening for them to try to understand. I know that isn't an excuse, but it is a reason. Wonder how they will feel if it strikes really close to home for them, if it happens to one of their very own?

I myself used to be aware of it, watching what it did to my aunt, but not all that interested in learning about it. Now that my own husband has it, it's a whole different story. Just being honest - personal experiences surely change one's perspective!

Yes, if they watch it they might have to admit Alzheimer's is more than just memory problems.
