I lost my DH after 53 years of marriage, I know your feelings. Take care. Betty
  7.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am "taking one day at a time", and day one, today was the visit to the funeral parlor with DD#1. This afternoon DD#2 helped me clean out most of Ron's closet and call Purple Heart for pickup next week. Thought it would be easier with someone to help.

    Dear Mary,
I'm so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I add my condolences to all those before me. I hope you can find some comfort in this sad time.
  15.
I was just reading Coco's thread and I am also doing very well, better than I expected. I have made first contact with all the people that need to be notified. Social security and VA the funeral director did. Called the lawyer and after several questions about how to proceed he said I do not have anything that needs to go to probate and said I don't need him and to call if I have any more questions.

Today DD and I pick up the ashes. I will post the link to the obituary when it is ready.

Joan , when you figure out how to do Coco's * I also need one dated 7/24/14.
  16.
MaryinPA, lots of prayers for you. May God grant you the peace that passess understanding. Hope you can get some much needed rest. Glad that you are doing well.

To put the star click on account on the top, then personal information. IF I am correct make sure you change your sign in name to match right down to spacing.

Thanks, Charlotte. I thought I should go into the personal information but I wouldn't have thought to change the user name.

Mary and everyone: I just typed in griecocares.tributes.com/obituary Ronald F. Myers It took me right there. We can leave a condolence in the memory book and/or light a candle. Grieco's is the name of the funeral home. Mary--wow--a PhD. And so handsome, too. There are just no words, but you and Ron are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mary, Your husband’s American Legion affiliation caused a small tug on one of my heart strings, for my father's family came from Litchfield County and I remember many happy childhood picnics in Riverton.

Ron was obviously an accomplished man and your and your children’s devotion show that he was much loved. Good for you for keeping him home and for your daughter for sticking with you in the day-to-day caregiving. I hope there is hope and light ahead of you.
  20.
What a nice obituary, Mary. He was such a handsome man. Thinking of you.
  21.
He was indeed a good looking man.
  22.
Dear Mary, your husband passed just the day after mine. I am sorry I was too lost to tell you at that time, how very sorry I am for your loss also. Thank you for that nice obituary and God bless you Mary.

Mary, thanks for sharing Ron's obituary with us. I left a message for you.
  23.
Thank you all for your condolences and messages.

This morning I went to the AZ support group that I have attended for over 4 years. Many of them have lost a spouse and were very supportive. One comment made was one I read here on this site. That is to leave a bank account open with his name on it so I can deposit any checks that come with his name on them.
  24.
My bank told me to keep DH name on our joint account for the same reason. I have a note to myself to remove it in Dec of this year.
  25.
    Mary*,

Thank you for sharing your husband's obituary.

Dignity and intelligence just shine from his photo.

Sending you prayers and wishes for comfort. It sounds like you have wonderful support from family, friends, and your group. Blessings to all who reach out to others.
