I was recently made aware of the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Network which offers services to people over 65 and people of any age who are disabled. Their home page is www.ivcinfo.org. I would search "Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers in STATE (whatever state you're in), because the home page brings you to a Michigan chapter.
I thought this might be a possibility for anyone who cannot afford the burgeoning cost of paid in-home caregivers. This may not be the only solution but could be helpful in augmenting day care or just a way to provide some respite hours for a caregiver.
I'm always looking for available community resources and thought I would share this.
Thanks for sharing LFL, I know couple of people who can’t afford a caregivers at home, and they need it! I hope someone open a network like this in my country.
Here is another site you might find helpful. They have interesting resources on sorting out needs vs wants, setting boundaries, maintaining balance...all designed for caregivers.
This is the section of their website with podcasts and handouts.
