I invite you to log onto the home page - www.thealzheimerspouse.com - and read today's blog. A surprise nomination for my blog and website. Please consider casting your vote by clicking either the link or badge on the home page. Please remember that the honor also goes to all of you who have helped make this website a success.
I voted by going to the link in Joan's blog. I clicked on an orange downward pointing arrow. This was yesterday and there were seven votes initially. I found it a bit confusing because the votes don't seem to register right away. I checked back and it had registered.
I think there was another option for facebook users that required them to sign in first. I'm not on facebook so that was not an option and I really didn't pay close attention to those instructions.
Thanks Abby. I had initially clicked on the orange arrow but didn't think it did anything. How could you tell it had registered? Perhaps I've already voted!
Now I am wondering too. When I initially went to that link after clicking on the badge, which didn't do anything, there were the 7 votes. I clicked on the arrow, not knowing what else to do and a little notice said that votes might not register right away. On the left side of the page there was a list of other blogs and I took a look at one, but it didn't take me more than a couple of minutes. When I returned, there were 10 votes so I am assuming, guessing, and hoping that one was mine.
I just went back and there are 74 votes. I clicked on the "like" option but it brought up a screen to log in to facebook.
I, too, am used to having some recognition of an action- even the little spinning thing that says "wait" but that didn't happen here...
I voted on Joan's site and when I went to FaceBook and clicked on the site it would not let me vote again. Not that I would cheat...Of course, I wouldn't.
That's right. We click on the LIKE button and if we're not signed into Facebook a pop-up comes on letting you log into Facebook so that the LIKE takes. I was vote number 12 and I watched the counter go from 11 to 12.
You aren't actually voting. You're putting a Facebook LIKE link to this site which counts them.
Ok, just voted (#85). I've resisted joining Facebook for all this time because it seemed to intrusive to me but, in reality, I was just intimidated. This site is too important to all of us who live with this disease to let a little thing like 21st center technology scare me away. :)
Joan, like Fiona68, I did not like joining Facebook, but considering the importance of this, I tried ... not successful ... will try again tomorrow ... perhaps I'm tired, but I will do this, or get help doing it ... you have helped us all so much!
Voted today. I was having problems seeing how to vote but I eventually realized that a privacy plugin in my brewer was hiding the Facebook vote button.
