frand just commented last night that she'd lost a post, but didn't think it could have been due to "timing out."
From the many times I've been bumped, I've decided two things:
(1) Timing out depends on how many other users are logged on and actively posting. Sometimes I'm bumped in a few minutes, sometimes I can go fix breakfast, hand out meds all around (including coaxing the cat to take hers), clean up, and come back to find I'm still on-line (like this morning.)
(2) Trying to hit the "post" button while the site is entering someone else's post causes the site to go haywire.
Which is why I either (a) "compose" in a word processing application and then copy-and-paste; (b) compose in the box but then copy it before I hit post, or (c) if I forget to do one of those, swear. (Delicately. "Dang.")
The only time I've been "bumped" I just hit the add your comments, I think that's what it was, on the page that bumped me & it posted. Not sure if this is the same kind of bumping you're talking about, but it worked for me.
... we're talking about getting bumped when we try to enter a rather lengthy post, and it does NOT get posted, it gets lost in cyberspace. Which is most annoying.
Fran, he was arrested for it! It seems a sawed-off shotgun is illegal where he lives. <grin> Plus, if your computer gets shot, how could we stay in touch with you? <grin>
I'll not be using a gun. I'm actually thinking of an ax. But, if I did, someone would find out and take me away and then where would every one be? Huh? I ask you. Who would be here to find all those things that get lost around here. Do i sound frazzled? Maybe a little bit.
ps--the weather here in the Beautiful Pacific North West is absolutely gorgeous today and my newly planted pots and doing just fine. I go out several times a day to check on them. Unforgunately they just won't grow any faster when I do that.
