read doctor Nash's descriotion of how he and his brother's used to run behind the DDT truck: http://www.organicgreendoctor.com/2014/01/the-fog.html?spref=fb
Growing up we had one corner of the house that the honey bees loved. He would spray DDT in there to kill them and the next season they were back. That corner was where my bedroom was. Whether the DDT penetrated through the wall I have no idea.
I read about the Dr's running into DDT fog as a child, but both his parents had AD and they did not run in the fog and I'd have to know about the other neighborhood boys who ran with him and what happened to them to get a better picture. Certainly DDT & other chemicals can cause harm and I'm 100% in favor of his gardening green practices. But, AD has been around for centuries, long before DDT. For decades I've read about links to it with aluminum, fluoride, mercury fillings, aspertame and more. Dr. Alzheimer's patient, well over 100 years ago and others of that era did not have any of these chemicals in their lives, they did not drink from aluminum cans, live under overhead wires, etc., but they had AD. So while some things in our modern society, even medications, may cause non-AD dementia, I don't think they are the root cause of AD. I think it's in our genome and that's the research where I'd spend my time and money. Nonetheless, I feel for the Dr. and his family and appreciate everything he does to make the best of things to get thru this. That's all any of us can do.
I saw that article too. And cranberries cause cancer...I don't think anyone really knows what is the cause of AD and all the so called solutions to prevent it is just snake oil at this point. I do wish there were some solutions for cures..It is such a terrible disease. All diseases are terrible really but this one is one of the hardest to deal with both for the victim and the caregiver.
