I would really like to find a good caregiver if I can find one I can afford just for an outing occasionally. I don't know either HOW I am going to accomplish this with someone who "is not an infant , and doesn't NEED a babysitter"! Your ideas??
  1.
Try your local Rotary Club, or Elks.

This is not my original idea but I read it on this board on a different post and filed it away in my mind for use later when I need it!!

Hire a college student (male would be the best match I would think). Someone studying psychology or social work would be great. Then tell your spouse that they are helping the student out as part of their coursework.

dont know where you are exactly but if you are in a good size city, they have home health care agencies everywhere. they screen their employees, bonded, drug tested, etc and most have people who work with just dementia patients,i just had the first new aide i got anothr agency today, she was great and it was for 4hrs today. enough time to doodle and grocery shop. it was 17dol/hr. well paid. i was so surprised on the first visit she had him cleaned up fed and clothes changed.? these are the ones you want who can do this the first visit, i was elated. best investment you can make for yourself. divvi
