Old Farmer's Advice: Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong. Keep skunks and bankers at a distance. Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor. Words that soak into your ears are whispered... not yelled. Meanness don't jes' happen overnight. Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads. Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you. It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge. You cannot unsay a cruel word. Every path has a few puddles. When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty. The best sermons are lived, not preached. Most of the stuff people worry about ain't never gonna happen anyway. Don't judge folks by their relatives. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer. Live a good, honorable life... Then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time. Don 't interfere with somethin' that ain't bothering you none. Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance. If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'. Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got. The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin'. Always drink upstream from the herd. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment. Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in. If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

Okay, I'll bite. What's a green bean diet?
All problems over except one with the Royal Trust company, who is the executor, and I've asked Revenue Canada to intervene on my behalf. I expect it will take a while.

Green bean diet is something with no calories and acts as just a filler for over weight dogs, she stopped eating them for awhile but I fooled her an put a teaspoon of no fat gravy on them an she thinks its Thanksgiving, dropped about 20#......maybe I should try them

ol don*, a few months ago the vet told me to give my dog some green beans as a filler with his regular food (cuz he needs to lose about 5 pounds) so I went out & bought a big can of them. I never gave him any. So this week when I made a big pot of vegetable soup for myself I put the green beans in my soup. Wellllll I guess I'll go out & buy another can of green beans for him since you say it works. (By the way, my soup was delicious!)

Sonny overfed our Dobe.,I give her less dog food and a lot of green beans.Like ol don when she gets tired of them I put a small amount of gravy on them. She has dropped 10 lbs. since he went in NH in May.She does like some fresh diced tomatoes on hew food, too.

Oh, Elaine. it's cold and rainy here today and exactly the right time of year to make homemade soup. So that's my project for tomorrow. I'll be sure to include some green beans!

    ol don......
I also enjoyed your words of wisdom. I'm gonna save them so I can think about them.
...., The Vet told me to give my dog some canned pumpkin for constipation. At the
grocery store they told me isle 17 on the left, but I couldn't find it, so I asked a nearby
lady if she happened to know where it was. She started looking for it and asked several
others and soon there was a whole bunch of us looking for it. Finally I heard someone
yell out "I found it"......Sure enough, a teen age boy had found it in isle 15, of all places.
.....We all laughed about it and went on with our shopping.
    ..........................Just another story, from GeorgieBoy

My dil feeds her Pom, frozen green beaans in the morning and dog food in the evening, or some days frozen peas. She went from roly poly and not able to go up her ramp to the deck, to running up the ram. The vet told her to.
