The Fifth Third Riverbank Run is done. I arrived near the Staging Area for the 5K Walk about 7:25. My sister, Gail and nieces, Erin and Monica met up with me for a few minutes before they headed over to get set for the 25K. Gail’s main comment was that it was cold. Not sure exactly but the Temp was somewhere in the low 40’s. She had just flown in from Houston Thursday night. Erin would be chasing to different locations along the route to cheer and get pics.
About 8:05 another niece, Laure met me. She was doing the 5K Walk for another Charity, but agreed to walk with me. We went to get her Run packet (run number inside), and shortly after joined our group as our turn to start crept closer.
The 25K started at 8:20. Our Walk began at 8:45. Laure and I finished 1 hour and 10 minutes later. Gail finished her very first 25k (15.5 miles) in 3:09:39. Monica finished hers (also her first) in 3:06. Our Donation total stands at $1091 for the CMTA.
We all went “home” to clean up/warm up and then out for lunch. When I got here at noon the Temp was 50. It rained while we ate, but clear to come home.
    There will be pictures soon.
And for those who might wonder, Boston was represented, and security was tightened, but even with all the multiple agencies involved nothing detracted from the friendliness and vitality of people having fun doing good things for others.

Thank you all--cheerers and donors. There are just not enough words to express my thanks in enabling me to help them. Just recently, they have announced that they fully expect treatments for the most prevalent type of CMT ithin 3 years, and more in the pipeline for the others. It's very good news for those of us with this hereditary, progressive orphan disease.
