Okay, I am really getting frustrated now. It snowed again last night! This winter has gone on far too long. Isn't it enough that I have to watch my DH 24/7 (except for my 7 and a half hours of respite per month, and my Sunday mornings at church) but I have to be cooped up in the house with him as well? I want to get outside and play in my garden!!!!!
Here in southeastern PA we are all mowing the lawns, and Yes, I went out and played in the garden today. Had to clean out all the grass and clover that was in my asparagas patch. Will be eating asparagas this weekend. Temps in the low 60's, perfect to work outside.
Mary, I am so jealous of your weather! :-) I was angry this morning when I saw the snow on the ground, and I was up far too early and had to scrape snow and ice off the car. grrrrr But, the sun came out, the snow is gone, the ice finally left the lake today and the loons are back! So it looks like I can play in the garden tomorrow, even if it is only 45 degrees! Asparagus? Maybe in May...
Judith, being called a 'kid' at 61 just made my year. Thanks so much!
We are also just losing the snow and it's been a LONG winter of trying to keep my sundowning husband from bolting out of the house each day from 4p - 7p. We are working with the Dr. to find a resolution because if I cannot keep him safe and compliant at our house, I will have to place him. We started on 1mg of Haloperidol tonight and (knock on wood) it worked like a charm. I'm praying that this fix works for many months.
Raining here in Atlanta - has been a dreary Sunday but we got out to eat - it's so funny that all of a sudden DH doesn't want to get even one drop of rain on him - has never been a problem until recently - will give you all a little chuckle for the day - discovered that DH thinks the chicken he eats two meals a day (only meat he will eat) is hamburger! I cook those slice 'n bake cookies for him sometimes because he likes them, but will ask me if I can make some of those round "meat" things for him. It's sad, but we have to laugh instead of crying when we can.
Having great weather here the past few days.Saturday got to open my antique shop, after being closed since last Sept. Lordy it was so good to spend all those hours with PEOPLE who could carry on a normal conversation and not have to repeat everything 4 or 5 times.DH did not seem to mind staying home with the nurse,I think he mostly forgets we have a business. It's sad, we had it since 1972 and he loved it.
HIt the triple digits today...cleaned the pool and went for a few laps. The water was refreshing. BBQ hamburgers on the grill. Gosh, I love spring/summer!
