Happy Easter all. I have already started on my Easter candy :) We are having my mom and a dear friend for a late lunch. May be hard, with DH wanting to go to bed around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I may fix him something earlier. They both understand, so it's all good.
Happy Easter to each of you. I will be going to a small country church for Easter Services and then to my Son and Daughter-in-laws home where most of the family will gather for lunch. Three years ago this Easter was the last time I took my DW out of the care center and it was to this same family gathering at Easter. She refused to go back and it ended up being very unpleasant, so we never tried it again. It wouldn't have been fair to her.
Religious beliefs aside, I do believe that Easter should be made the official holiday of the Alzheimer spouse. Many many times during the year while looking for the broom, the keys, a specific book, or perhaps when I find a shoe in with the bath towels, I find myself muttering "everyday is Easter!" :) Seriously though I do wish us all a special day today and that we are able to experience a few moments of joy or at least serenity.
Late last night I was in bed reading and DH was sitting up watching TV. I heard the front door open and close and then again (we live in a high rise apartment). I called out to him and asked what was going on. He told me he had taken the garbage and put it down the chute and I got a good feeling since he had thought of it by himself. Oh how sweet. This morning when I got up the garbage can was still full of garbage and so I'm wondering this beautiful Easter morning....what exactly was it that went down the chute?
a very Happy Easter to all my friends here and their families. !! we do need days to just enjoy some serenity for a change. me too, been into wayy too much easter candy.! it seems a small joy to endulge.:) divvi
At Rotary tonight one of the members brought 5 of the Easter eggs (wooden) that were for the White House Easter Egg Roll. They are made by a Maine company, and Doug knows the owner, so got his 5 eggs before the ones were sent to the White House. Each egg had the White House seal and signatures of both Obama's (except for one egg which had a paw print and the letters "Bo".
