Does anyone know anything about eyelids rolling in? I have had a problem with my left eye for at least 5 years. The Optician I used to go to said it was a concretion, which apparently is like a large grain of sand in my eye. I have had cataract surgery and surgery for my eyelids rolling in. The problem is still there. The guy I now go to has decided the left eyelid is rolling in AGAIN! He said when he did the first surgery that it helped. I have no idea where he got that because this has been going on 24/7 365 and I certainly don't remember getting any relief. He said the rolling in can come back and wants to do the surgery again. I don't know if I should try again and hope it works. BTW, he recently removed 6 eyelashes that he said was causing the problem, that hasn't helped either. To be honest I wonder if he is coming up with these things in order to make money from Medicare. He wanted me to have Lasik surgery to the tune of $4,790.OO which I would have to pay for... so that didn't happen! If anyone knows about the rolling in occurring again please let me know. Thanks.

I had that with my left lower eyelid and had surgery. I've never had a problem since and that was about 3 or 4 years ago.
Makes me wonder if you need a different doctor

I googled it, Jean, and all the sites I read says it can come back again; and the concretions should be removed. I think you need a second opinion, though. Good luck.

I would ask my friends, especially nurse friends, who is the best opthamologist they know. If you have two or more recommend the same doctor, you can be more confident that you are getting the best of care.

I was thinking of trying another doctor. One reason is the only one who saw a concretion was the first guy and he doesn't do surgery. I will check around for another doctor and hope I can find someone who can take care of the problem. I don't read like I used to or sew and do machine embroidery like I used to because it makes my eye feel worse. Thanks for your input.

Jean, how do you do machine embroidery? That sounds very interesting. I embroider but by hand.

I have a friend that does that. She has one of the more expensive machines that loads numerous threads on it. She programs the design in and let it go. It will do one color, then stops, threads the next color, etc.

Wouldn't our grandmas roll over in their graves if they knew that a sewing machine can embroider in hours what it took them days or weeks to do!

I'm one of those grandmas that used to hand embroidery and now have a computerized machine that does a design in about 30 minutes that would take me a week to do. It is great! I am now machine embroidering quilt blocks for a great grandbaby. The designs look like the hand embroidery ones I did for my first baby. It is great fun. I download the designs from the computer on a flash drive and that goes into my sewing machine. This sewing machine also will do plain old sewing too.

I too have an embroidery machine. I love it. Haven't used it in a while what with caring for my dh before he died. But, I look forward to getting back to my sewing and embroidery machine.

I actually have two home embroidery machines but I keep one for straight sewing WHEN I sew!

deb42657, With the home embroidery machines you have to change the thread after each colour. When I got the first machine the one that had more than one thread was over $8,000.00 so that was out. For that much money you would almost have to make a business out of embrooidery to pay for the machine. At least that was how I thought and I didn't want to make a business out of it. They probably cost more now but I would imagine they do more as well.
