My DH's Neurologist gave us a referral to the Johns Hopkins Memory Clinic........great! Problem is I can't speak to a human being!!! I called Wednesday morning (2/13) and got a recording. The lovely voice said she would call back within 24-48 hrs. OK...so it isn't 48 hrs until tomorrow morning...but I have a bad feeling. I tried calling back today but got the same run-a-round!!! I guess the next step will be to call the Dr. and get his staff to get me connected....so FRUSTRATED!!!!!! I hope this isn't a sign of what is to come.
Yes Ferggie.... You have to go through your doctor. Doctors usually have special numbers for getting through. I hate these automated phone answering systems. It's all about ...if you want this press this ... But I found that regardless of the messages, If I just press zero, sometimes I will get a person to talk to....Try it Ferggie.......
Act like you have an old rotary - I just hand on waiting. Sometimes someone will answer other times get disconnected. I agree: tired of not being able to speak with people.
Let us know how it goes with the doctor contacting them
I am setting up a new phone system for our office, the very first option will be to press 0 to reach the receptionist. I often scream and curse at automated attendants.
Try calling and ask for "operator" or "human being"
Johns Hopkins is an excellent hospital and we drive there once a year to see a neurologist (Dr. Hillis who is an expert in FTD).
