I am getting ready to order a certified copy of our marriage license cause I know at some point will need. Should I just get one copy or more than one?
Winter wonderland this morning. Bright shining sun where every twig on every tree was piled high with snow. As I sipped my mocha chino waving at my 87 year old neighbour snowblowing my driveway I couldn't help admire my friend who despite being given terrible odds went ahead with the second brain cancer operation yesterday where this time they removed three tumours and then did plastic surgery on his skull.
I had thought he should consider taking the months he had in a state where his days right now are ok and his mind and personality are in tact. But he wants to fight and stood this morning with some help. I could use some of that spirit I realized standing out in front of my house waving at the neighbour two doors over. My 87 year old neighbour didn't see either of us plowing along the sidwalk back from my house to his. I flashed on how much this scene reminded me of Grumpy Old Men and wouldn't have been suprised to see Ann Margret zooming up in a skiddo. Some days are just odd.
Has anyone seen my marriage license? I know it's here somewhere...lockbox under the bed?...top drawer in the curio cabinet?...file cabinet?...damn! I gotta get down to SS on Monday because they sure are johnny on the spot when they take the money away! Brought Lloyd (ashes) home yesterday with me where he belongs. Have no fancy schmantzy container yet. He's nestled in his cardboard box between the pillows on the bed. I do believe I may go mad!
Yep, you'll need that. Linda, I ordered urns from Keller urns (you can googled it for the address.) No shipping charge and a lot cheaper than you'd pay at the crematorium or funeral home. Lot of selections. They''re in Georgia.
If you have a safe deposit box at the bank, check there. Or if you have a fire proof box at home, check that too. This is a good reminder to us all to locate all our important papers and have them in a safe fireproof box or safe...ours is in our armor plated gun safe. We ordered a gun safe for our coin collection, my jewelery, some first edition books, my hubby's flight logs, and all our important papers and diplomas etc.
No, Linda, you won't go mad even if you want to. You'll cry like I did when I slept with his old overcoat, and you'll cry when you hear 'that' song and on special days and because it just must be done. Grief is a form of solace, let it be there, we need to grieve. It's normal and time takes care of all such things. Betty
