http://actionalz.org/overview.asp....I cam across this site yesterday and there will be a documentary on PBS on August 3. Has anyone read this book ad if so was it worthwhile?
I believe this is the same show that aired in 2004. That was about the time I liked to torture myself reading heartbreak after heartbreak...., had just watched The Notebook.. and was done in for. I wasn't able to watch the whole thing, but I might try again...
Yes I agree, like I said back then I liked to torture myself, so I read it AND watched it. Now adays I live with the torture too much to find any entertainment in it. But the PBS show could be different, as if I remember correctly it has a panel talk after with David Hyde.. I might try to watch it
I watched The Notebook. All the way through. Was that an Oprah book? It seems as if most of her books have that kind of very sad ending. Just wondering.
I love James Garner. I thought they (I can't remember her name) did a wonderful job on a difficult subject.
I have not read the book. Probably won't. I can't handle too much sadness for entertainment.
Judith KB - Yes, I watched the documentary in 2004 (it was on right after Ronald Reagan's funeral & post-diagnosis of my DH) -- we actually watched it together...very hard to watch. Then, I did also get the book and read that. It has alot of good info in it, esp if someone is "new" to this disease, which I was. I read it all. I would recommend it to anyone who is new to the disease.
