Hi Everyone, Just saw this article in a respected Schizophrenia research forum that I thought you might find interesting. I have read in this forum before spouses talk about early signs throughout their loved one's life. What do you think? Best Regards td
Wow, Thank you for posting this. I think when they start to unlock the mysteries of the brain, we will find there is not just one answer to any question we have.
Here is another article that is easier to read called Newborns Brains Bear Signs Of Illness. It is about new research that thinks that the ApoE4 gene might influence brain structure as early as infancy. I agree with you Blue and I am excited to learn what it really going on in the brain. My son has schizophrenia and my DH has recently been dx with depression and ADHD. He is 64 years old. I have been reading this wonderful forum for 4 years thinking that I might be seeing early signs of Alzs in my DH. He lost 2 pair of glasses last week. DH has a paternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, maternal Aunt and mother who died of Alzs and his brother has a daughter with schizophrenia too. Both DH and I have been caretaking for many years and he could just have what they sometimes call caretaker's dementia or stress? Who knows.... But I sure find the gene studies hopeful. I hope they hurry up and figure out what autism, alzs, schizophrenia, adhd, bipolar disorder and others have in common and how to do early testing for the genes. I wish all brain disorder groups could work together as one. We have so much we could learn from each other and the fundraisers could really be a kick too LOL...Best Regards td http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/347519/description/Newborns_brains_bear_signs_of_adult_illnesses
