I tried to write Happy Birthday on your facebook timeline, but I couldn't, so I thought I would wish you a Happy Birthday here! I know you are going through a difficult time trying to decide to place your DH. You are doing the best that you can so don't be so hard on yourself. There comes a time when you just have to realize that you can't do it anymore. That time came for me in October.I knew that I had to place my DH in the hands of those who could care for him 24/7. It wasn't an easy decision, it never is, but I am at peace with it. I hope your day is full of blessings! ((HUGS))
Happy Birthday Mimi....hope you are feeling better and you and your family are enjoying the holiday....know that is difficult...but, we can still hope for a little bit of happiness.
Thank you everyone!!! What a nice surprise to find this on the boards!!! wow and I did get so many greetings from the gang here on FB so don't know why some could not post on the timeline but maybe it is something I did with settings..I am not great with that stuff.
I had a great day..Got up, took care of the hubby's meds and we had some breakfast...and then throughout the day I opened some gifts from the kids and my brother and the cards that came in the mail...I got out to the yarn shop, Joan, and got some new yarn and a lesson on a new pattern...still getting the basics but am making some nice scarves...
We had dinner here at home and boy did I get mileage out of my hubbys birthday cake. I got him a white cake with raspberry filling and a frosting that looked like it was a beautiful wedding cake...well his birthday was in April..so we served the cake then and I froze the rest of it...and on our anniversary had another set of slices with family and then today we had the last of it and it was as fresh and good as the first time...
Hubby gave me a bit of $$$ and said get something from our friend's jewelery store so I did.. a little diamond pendant...pretty little thing..he was pleased with HIS selection!! So all in all it was a good day.
Oh and I talked with a gal who has an in home agency...and she is coming out on the 1st to see what kind of assistance I need as DH is not ready for assisted living...she told me some things about the woman who has been taking me to see facilities and she did not have good things to say. It was a warning of be careful..she is pro pushing into assisted living...when in home was a better avenue in earlier phased...but of the places the woman took me to see, the first one she showed me was the one that the in home lady would also recommend when the time comes...And the gal I am going to visit with has her team taking care of my best friend's 94 year old mother and has been for 3 years and I know these people well and there has not been one complaint..those averages are better than most...so will give it a look see and try.
