Are any of you aware of an inexpensive cordless razor that cannot be over charged? The ALF my DH is in, keeps his shaver plugged in all the time and now a 2 month old shaver is not working. (This is the second one that stopped working). I considered shaving him myself but I visit 3-4 times a week after work so he would get quite grizzly between visits.
texasgirl, can you return them? They should still be under warranty if they're only 2 months old? I don't have a suggestion but I find it strange that they cannot stay plugged in all the time.
I'ts been cleaned but still does not work. I have a feeling it may have gotten wet but no one is saying. I'm going to see if leaving it unplugged for a day or two will drain the battery. If not, it is going back to the store. I believe what I am going to have to do, is to leave only the razor at the ALF and keep the charger with me to charge when I'm there.
Texasgirl - Consumer Reports recomends buying a razor with an auto shut off charger. "A charger that shuts off automatically when the battery is fully charged is a convenience. With some, you need to pull the plug as soon as the shaver is fully charged, or overcharging might reduce the battery life." Their other recommendation is to wait until the battery is nearly fully discharged before charging it again.
Sid has always used a Remington - sometimes the inexpensive ones; sometimes the middle of the road model. He always keeps it plugged in; uses it; plugs it back in. Never had a problem with the battery.
