If any of you are Quilters, you will be interested in this. I am a quilter and found this by accident. I am going to do this. I plan to ask my Quilting group to do this with me. I'm so surprised that I never knew about this. They only require that you make small quilts . They suggest 12" square. How easy is that? You can make larger ones as well. All to benefit finding a cure for this hideous disease that has affected so many lives.
For details go to TheQuiltShow.com Click on Free shows. Then Episode 712 .
I hope this will inspire others as well.

    Ocallie,
I was involved in working on an alzheimer quilt. The support group I belonged to in 2009 made six quilts. They are not made to be used as a quilt but to be used to honor our loved ones who have AD or have passed due to AD. Someone in the group started the quilt and made two before she had to quite. It was my honor to take over the project. We made 12" squares with a picture of our LO on the square. Then we took five of the squares and put them together along with a short bio. and made a 36" square . We honored 30 of our LOs.
The quilts are displayed around the country.
I was able to attend one of the showings in Chicago in 2009. I was able to meet six people from our site at the showing. We traveled from California, Wisc., Il, Mi. and Virginia. It was like meeting family.

Sounds wonderful. Quilting was the only thing I didn't give up, as my hubby's AD progressed. He couldn't be left alone, so I took him, to my quilting group, with me. My quilt ladies were so good to him. They named him honorary quilter. I took him for 2 years. I can't believe I wasn't aware of all this.
