Joan talks about an upcoming film, Faded Flowers, in a recent blog.
I got an email this morning, apparently because of Alzheimer's-related blogging, from the producer of an independent short film. The producer is working on fundraising, and expresses a willingness to be interviewed.
Joan--if you are interested in the contact info, let me know and I'll send it (although I'm guessing that you have already been contacted as well.) If you cut/paste this link, it will give you a snippet of an idea what the film's about: http://www.indiegogo.com/shatteredlove2
Here's what the producer says:
"My name is Dawn Fields and I’m currently producing a short film that shines a light on Alzheimer’s Disease. It’s an emotionally powerful film about an elderly woman in the advanced stages of dementia who believes she is a young woman again and her husband is a total stranger holding her captive in their own home.
We are scheduled to start shooting on August 24th, and therefore need to move quickly to secure the rest of our funding. We are currently running a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.com and would love to raise as much awareness as possible. Muse Watson (Prison Break, NCIS) and Mackenzie Mason (Rules of Engagement, the upcoming Halo 4) are attached to star and John Scheer is directing.
We would be so thrilled if you could give us a mention on your website and would gladly make ourselves available for an interview if you would like to know more about the project. We are so excited about this film and its message that we are convinced we will not only be accepted into the major film festivals, but win several awards as well. We are also hoping that the film can be used as a potential promotion and awareness tool for Alzheimer’s foundations and support groups.

Thank you much for your time and consideration. We look forward to you thoughts."
