Today I thought I ought to investigate, though no symptoms yet that we need these, but there were choices of boxer depends and briefs...
I was wondering if anyone had tried the boxers and how well do they work compared to briefs. Also the sizes..are they pretty true to form or do they run small despite the measurements given on the packages?

I feel like the Depend briefs packaged as S/M are pretty spacious, and the L are really big. I realize this is all relative, but Jeff would wear your basic Hanes or Fruit of the Loom type briefs in size 34, and the S/M Depends have a bit more room available than he requires.
Have not tried the boxers or the Truefit (something like that) that are supposed to be more like the cloth thing.

DH always wore briefs and I don't feel comfortable with the boxer things but I have no experience. If they are fitted like the regualr hanes boxer briefs they may provide more coverage, meaning poop won't run down the leg but I don't know.

my DH uses the depends s/m as well and is a 34 waist. his legs are very thin and the larges have too much leg space which counters the containment issues :)
a closer fit for me is much better as i have tried all the brands and if they dont fit around the legs especially then they will not give you the protection needed.
the boxers may work too if its something hes used as his norm. make sure you can fit a booster pad into them before getting him used to them though. with a pad in them they may not be as comfortable but i havent tried it. the Depends True fit are the softest most cotton type i have found. no paper at all and feels like cloth.
a huge improvement in my opinion.

My husband has a 40 inch waist but skinny legs. The Depends brand small (28-40) are too tight and the large (36-64) are too loose, especially around the legs. I tried all the store brands--Target, K-Mart, Walmart, Walgreens, grocery store brand--they all fit about the same as Depends. Tena has a M/L size, 34-50 inches, that is the only one that works well for me.

I better look at Tena then. like Lori's DH mine too has bird legs and a strong upper body He is a 34 wasit. Thanks for all the suggestions...will have to see what is available around here..

How do you find one that is long enough from waist to crotch? Everyone I've gotten samples of are too short for him! We don't need them- yet, but I've had him try them on - and they are all too short.

My husband always wore boxers. When he started to have bowel incontinence once every week or two I suggested switching to ordinary underwear briefs to better contain the mess, and he adamantly refused. To my surprise, when I told him he had to try boxer briefs he thought they were ok.

I pushed him to wear Depends on bad days and for some reason he never complained about them being briefs. I did buy him a box of the Depends SureFit and he likes them better than the regular. We have not tried the boxer style ones. He had a 34 inch waist and the S/M are plenty big. He now choses to wear them all the time.

Thank you one and all I was leaning toward the briefs...DH used to wear those and then for some reason he switched to boxers... He might be ok with the snugger one..I would rather contain the contents and avoid too much mess when the time comes for this...

Tena M/L briefs worked well for us.
