I had a bit of a hard time at church today. The music was one of the hymns my wife particularly liked. I had trouble during the singing of that one, realizing how much we have lost.
What a wonderful country this is!!! To actually honor men for getting someone pregnant.....gotta love it! Just wish it would be a floating holiday....like during hunting season, fishing season, football, or during Mardi Gras......
Phranque you are the best to give me a laugh. In our Sunday school class yesterday Father's Day was mentioned and someone said you wouldn't be father's without us (women) quickly someone else suggested maybe we should just move on from that topic. Got a good chuckle before lesson started.
Thank you to all for recognizing that fathers do hold a special place in the hearts of others including their children. I was blessed yesterday to have my daughter plan a fathers day event for me so that the other siblings (four boys) and the grand children could come home and create a blessed day for their dad. And recognize him for the contribution he had made to their lives. It made an old man feel very blessed to be with his family. One son lives in Texas but he called. Even though I was not wanting to celebrate without my DW seeing the happy looks of my family changed my outlook for the day and I am very grateful to my daughter for setting the event up.
Sad that the average time that a father spends with his children every day is 7 seconds......Half of fathers do not deserve the title.....it is not a biological holiday
well phranque guess I spoiled the national average cause Sunday they were at the house for about 5 hours. and they loved every minute of it. but then again some of us are above the national average. lol Bruce
