Anyone seen this before? http://www.krem.com/news/Advance-MRI-helping-with-Alzheimers-diagnosis-in-Spokane-156971765.html
Jeff had plenty of MRIs over the course of diagnosis and clinical studies, but I've never heard of an MRI being this useful in staging, or prediction outcomes.
emily, I read this differently (there was only 1 page, right?). To me, it sounded like the volumetric MRI can predict which of the patients dx with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) will progress into AD or another form of dementia, and which will not. Most, but not all, MCI patients do. Sort of the same thing with the statement re predicting which patients will remain stable--I'm thinking it would identify other causes of whatever symptoms are present, ruling out AD and other dementias.
