The June issue of The Washingtonian <http://www.washingtonian.com> will have a feature story on Alzheimer's Disease. It focus' on George and Trish Vradenburg. Alz runs in Trish's family. They are Washington insiders and have been using their money and influence for Alz research. I made sure taht thealzheimerspouse.com is listed as a resource. The focus of the article is Alz and not dementia in general. It will be on the newsstands by the end of next week and the digital editions will be out by the end of the month.
Thanks for the heads up. I believe they're the couple who used to host Washington's National Alzheimer's Gala. I was shocked that the Alz Assoc was not having the event this year, but maybe the Vradenburg's are conentrating on their USAgainstAlzheimer’s PAC..
Thanks for this information. When I was at the Advocacy Forum, I heard that the National Capitol Chapter wasn't having their gala, but no explanation was given. Glad to hear of more focus on the disease.
Yes, the same couple. They dropped out of sponsoring the gala because they thought it was a poor use of their money and that they felt it raised too little money. They are donating that money to other alz activities. The Wash Post had an article on this a few months ago.
