Judy--Aside from finding out about whether the medications were dispensed (a biggie), I would ask, what was the trigger that caused the incident? Have they observed agitation in your husband before? Was the woman injured? Did the NH indicate her family was requesting that your husband be moved to a geripsych unit?

I don't think that an isolated incident of this type usually causes a facility to send a resident out. If it's a pattern, then that's another story. My husband has hit staff members when they were trying to do personal care, and they adjusted their methods to use two aides as a team or to stop and try again later.

Staff cannot watch every resident at all times, but you need more details on what happened.
