My DH is in an ALF and a few months ago he began sweating even when he is not active. Last night he was eating supper and I watched sweat beading off his face. Two weeks ago the cardiologist prescribed a different BP Med (Toprol) but the sweating continues. DH has also fallen 4 times (a first for him) in the last week when he had been quite ambulatory. My first thought was that the Toprol is making him dizzy. I am expecting a call from the doctor tomorrow to see what we can do next. I am anxious to stop the sweating because DH looks miserable.
I am interested to know if any of you have experienced excessive sweating with little or no activity.
i would go over all the medications hes on. if hes fallen 4times in a week after starting a new med i would be concerned, as should be his dr. not all BP meds would cause this, maybe a possible drop that would cause dizziness, but there are tons of BP meds out there as we also use BP meds, norvasc or diovan never caused this problem for us. if hes on any meds for AD they can also be a culprit. sweating and falling is a sign to me something isnt right. he may need to see the dr personally for a thorough checkup. cardiac issues also can have these symptoms. divvi
Texasgirl, how awful! I can imagine this is distressing for you to witness, and I imagine uncomfortable for your DH. I agree with Divvi, sure sounds like he could use a check up from a doctor. I hope they can figure out if it is his medication or something else. Please keep us posted…. ((hugs))
Texasgirl- The excessive sweating and rapid pulse could be caused by his love for you. Men often get the sweating and eleavated pulse (and other symptoms) when they look at a pretty woman...
