I contacted Dr. Frank by e-mail just to ask a few questions and see what was involved in her study on the caregivers of EOAD. Her response was pretty
immediate and she was very appreciative of my interest. She is mailing me the information and survey questions.

Of course, I have to review the survey stuff first, but the thought of adding anything to the knowledge about AD and especially caregiving and the breakdown of marriage is very appealing to me.

I could never do what Joan and others are doing to help this cause, but I thought that this might be something.....

Has anyone else thought about doing this?

Anita41---One of the spouses in my EOAD support completed this, and he encouraged the rest of us to do so, because he said it was very user-friendly, etc. So I also contacted her, and she's mailing me the info next week. I told her that I had heard about it from two places, and she appreciated that! Hopefully the word is getting out. Like you said, anything we can do that might help someone..... TexasMom

I too have responded to Dr. Frank's request for caregivers of EOAD. I am awaiting her survey, and I hope many others will also get involved. Anything I can do, to help others on their path, will be a welcome chore......

    Trisinger,
Go to the main page and look at the blog from 7/10. Dr. Frank is doing a study on EOAD. Very easy to participate-only have to fill out a survey.

I just completed the survey from Dr. Frank...very interesting process to go through, especially the grief inventory.

I also completed the survey. It made me re-think how much saddness I feel over this. I would not be surprised if that turned out to be something they finally learned.. There is much more sadness and grief among spouses than previously discussed or acknowledged.

I agree. My feelings are so layered...sometimes I think I get frustrated just to change channels from being sad. And the thing that I don't think people understand, unless they are going through this, is that the grieving period is so extended. Loss upon loss.

I just completed the survey as well and will put it in the mail tomorrow. I was wondering if we should add any attached notes that we felt weren't covered? Or just to point out the frustration with the entire medical system and how it adds to all the sadness. At least it adds to it for me.

Gretchen, I did email Dr. Frank after mailing the survey and let her know I would be happy to provide any additional information. And also I asked to be sent a copy of the survey results.
