Lately I've been wondering if these medical alert buttons would be a good thing for me. If I fall, or get injured, who would call to get help? My dh is bedbound and could not summon any help at all. Any thoughts on this? Anyone know of pricing?

I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is a fall risk. I don't know what the initial cost is, but I think it's around $35 a month for the service. Probably more, depending upon how sophisticated it is, and how many features you want.

Sid was just approved for funding for one, so I am waiting for the company to call me to come and set it up.

Check with your Area Agency on Ageing. I got mine through the same Co. that provides my in-homne helper. Just used it last night. Was a non-fall fall. Getting nthe mailn. Dropped a couplepieces. When I bnt to scoot them in, I over balanced. Coulldn't raise back up. Only choice was to lower myself down. Once reclines on my lef side, pushed button. Explained that I was down but unhurt and needed help to get up and it was COLKD. 18 out there. EMTs came, stood me up. I grabbed my crutches andwe all went inside. Once sure i was okay, they sent the ambulance away, and brought the mail in. The Alert Company also let my sister know there'd been an event so she checked on me. The fee is on a sliding scale, but no more than about $30-35 a month. I was also told, had I needed to I could use it to call for help or DH.
In your case, I think it'd be smart--for you and because if your DH had an event and you were hung up helping him you could still call for help. Other than pu8shing the button,, it's hands free.

Brindle, I have been researching these for some time. Finally found a comparison chart at medicalalertreviews.org. It compares several plans.

I think I'm going to order the senior safety.com one. No contract, nothing to buy, can cancel anytime, and right now they will include a second button at no cost - one for me! I think it's $23.95 a month.
