A tip that has facilitated going through security. My wife has moderate stage+

Using software you can download for MS Word I created an official appearing business card with my wife's photo. I had the card laminated giving it an official appearance.

I present the card to the TSAofficer with her boarding pass an photo iD. Every time we have been treated with great respect and no confusion has resulted from my wife's inability to carry out directions

    BOLD heading. ALZHEIMERS DISEASE
    Photo. Name
I have Alzheimer's and may no be able
To follow your directions. Your understanding
    Is much appreciated

I do something similar, but use this TSA card which you can download and print:
    http://www.tsa.gov/assets/pdf/disability_notification_cards.pdf
I filled in ALZHEIMER'S then laminated it. This seems to have worked well at clueing in security people, and in 3 or 4 uses we have been given an easy time.

We had a great experience when we went to Canada at Christmas. They drove us through to customs as his legs are shaky, we got there WAY ahead of the other travelers, AND got to go through the customs in the same booth as the pilots and staff. It was quick and easy.

I flashed a little card at the security like you all said and it really helped too. sigh...so there is ONE good thing about this disease, (faster customs and security treat you a bit kinder)
