All of the articles etc on turning a person in bed take for granted the person stays on the pull sheet area. Well, my dh is constantly moving down and the pull sheet does not move with him. So I am constantly have to replace the pull sheet and then move him up in the bed before we can do anything else. Turning dh to get the pull sheet under is an issue. Has anyone found a better way to do this?
Even getting the sling under dh is an issue and using the hoyer is no better because of having to get the sling underneath properly. Uh! HELP!

a thin amount of memory foam or eggcrate foam maybe would help him from sliding on the slick pull sheet. and if you raise the end of the bed and head a bit they tend to stay more centered in the hospital bed. i use memory foam pads in DH chaise lounger chair to keep him from sliding off the base of the chair. and if it needs washing you can take outside and hose down with soap/water and let airdry. i have a couple to alternate while one gets washed if needed.

how would this work with our air pressure mattress pad? DH doesn't just slide down, he butt scoots down with knees bent. I don't stop this anymore as I guess at least he is still moving and getting some exercise. Funny, if I try to get him to stretch and bend his knees, he won't. But when he wants to move in bed, no problem.

maybe ask your nurse if a silicone or neoprene peice of material would affect the air mattress. i dont think so if its very thin. it may help to keep him from sliding instead of the cotton sheets. if you put a wedge under his knees he should not be able to scoot very far. any material that prevents slipping like neoprene for instance should not affect too badly the rotating mattress. but ask just the same. maybe your nurse has some suggestions?
