This certainly sounds interesting and promising, except I'm not sure if I get the Starz channel. Anyway, this is the summary taken from the Starz website:
Mayor Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer) sits like a spider at the center of Chicago’s web of power; a web built on a covenant with the people. They want to be led, they want disputes settled, jobs dispensed, and loyalties rewarded. If he achieves through deception and troubling morality, so be it. As long as he gets the job done, they look the other way.
Yet despite being the most effective mayor in recent history, a degenerative brain disorder is ripping everything away from him. He can’t trust his memory, his closest allies, or even himself.
Kane’s wife Meredith (Connie Nielsen) knows nothing. Theirs is a marriage of convenience. Kitty O’Neil (Kathleen Robertson), Kane’s advisor, has her suspicions but stays silent. And Kane’s political advisor Ezra Stone (Martin Donovan), a Yale graduate with a rough edge, remains questionless.
Only Emma (Hannah Ware), Kane’s estranged daughter, has a chance of learning his secret. This is going to be the toughest term yet for the Boss.

From Alzheimer Daily News:
(Source: LBDA) - Kelsey Grammer, known for his roles on both the big and small screen, stars in his first dramatic series, Boss, as the mayor of Chicago, Tom Kane. Kane is a ruthless politician and is keeping a secret from everyone but his doctor - he has Lewy Body dementia.
The series premiere is available online for early screening this week. "The opening scene includes a bleak description of the relentless progression of LBD," stated Angela Taylor, LBDA's Director of Programs. "LBD families may notice some creative license is employed to make the show more entertaining, but this is a big step forward for national LBD awareness."

Good show. What struck me after seeing the pilot is how sad it is that the character seemingly has no one close to share his dx with--poor relationship w/wife and daughter; what must it be like to face dementia alone?
I watched the first hour and decided that the language, graphic sex, etc. were just a tad bit too raw for me. I've had some experience with politic ians, so the behavior, especially for Chicago, seems right on. Also, since I live with the dementia scenario 24/7, I choose not to watch it on tv as well. It will be interesting to see how this series does with the public, though; Kelsey Grammer is doing a fine job in this role and probably most people will not have the same issues I have with this program.
mothert, Your right the language and sex are raw.I don't want to watch it again.I didn't watch the whole thing the first time. And I do not think anyone who knows me would consider me a prude.
I don't care about the language and such, but after watching half the pilot I'd say it's the grim reality of political maneuvering that I don't need to indulge in. Well acted, and I'm interested in the concept, but even in a story about LBD I need at least a little lightness in my dramas, and that had none.
So it's a matter of whether grittiness is your thing or not. I need some rainbows.
