I have just finished filling out the paperwork for the Elder Law Attorney if my DH should have to go in a NH. If you haven't done it yet I am giving you fair warning. It is 14 pages of questions...... not the least of which is your finances.
My head is spinning. LOL. How many of us know off hand what taxes we pay each month if it is taken out of the retirment and you get a notice each January with the amount. How much interest you earn on savings each month. I
never paid attention to it that much except when tax time came around. I wouldn't want to do this every year and if I have to do it again I may just shoot myself or my DH or both of us. One problem, we don't own any guns. LOL If you need to take care of this type of thing I would suggest you do it soon before your LO is unable to sign any paperwork.

Jean21, I understand just what you mean. Yes, I filled out all those papers, took me over 2 weeks, many visits and phone calls to retrieve info, and long hours agonizing over it all. It is very traumatic and if you're going to do it, my 2 pieces of advice are: start early, and use a pencil with a big eraser (cause you're going to need it!) HA
Yes, I have made the decision to rob some accounts and hire an elder law attorney to take care of so many of these nit picky things that I simply cannot take the time from work to do.
    Take care!
